Savings shown compare each supplier's fixed tariff against the Ofgem price cap of £1,862/year from 1 July 2026, based on typical household consumption of 2,700 kWh electricity and 11,500 kWh gas per year, paying by direct debit. Tariff prices shown were correct as of June 2026 and are for illustrative purposes only. Your actual cost depends on your postcode, usage, meter type, and the tariffs available at your address. What to have ready

  • Your postcode
  • Gas and electricity, or electricity only
  • Annual usage in kWh from a recent bill if available
  • Current supplier name (optional)
  • Your meter type: standard, smart, or prepayment

Not sure of your annual usage? Estimate it in under two minutes using the energy usage estimator.

How it works on our partner platform

1

Enter your postcode

Gas and electricity availability and pricing varies by region. Entering your postcode shows tariffs specific to your area rather than national averages.

2

Add your usage details

Annual kWh figures from a recent bill give the most accurate estimated costs. If you do not have them, the platform allows you to estimate by household size.

3

Compare and switch online

Review live tariffs ranked by estimated annual cost. If you choose a new deal, the switch is completed on the platform. Most switches complete within five working days.

Before you compare

Is the comparison secure?

You complete comparison and switching on our partner hosted platform. Utility Matchmaker does not store your tariff application on this site.

Can I switch gas and electricity together?

Yes. Most tools let you compare dual fuel or electricity only. Choose the option that matches your home.

Will I need Direct Debit details?

Many tariffs use monthly Direct Debit. The application form will ask for bank details if you choose that payment method.

Will comparison affect my credit score?

No. Comparing energy tariffs through the partner platform does not involve a credit check and has no effect on your credit score. Energy switching does not require a credit search for standard credit meter customers.

Can I compare if I have a prepayment meter?

Yes. Enter your postcode and select prepayment as your payment method on the partner platform. Tariff availability varies for prepayment meter customers but a range of options is typically shown.
